Fairview Orchards is a family owned & operated farm that cultivates a diverse variety of certified organic fruit such as Hass Avocados, Meyer Lemons, Blood Oranges, Figs, Specialty Tangerines, Jujubes & Pomegranates.  Hand-picked and delivered or shipped fresh, we practice sustainable farming methods while utilizing the latest technology.  Our farm is 100% powered by solar energy and is nestled in Ojai, California surrounded by rolling hills and the majestic Topa Topa mountains. We are fortunate to have naturally rich soil and a wonderful micro-climate that our trees and plants love.

We invite you to taste the difference!

Meet the Farmers

Tien - wife, mother, organic farmer, and customer servicer. Yep, I help grow the fruit, pick the fruit, pack the fruit, and handle any questions about the fruit.  I love fruit and most things having to do with food - finding it, preparing it, and oh yeah eating it.

Sean - husband, father, organic farmer and getting-things-done-guy.  I do everything from maintaining the technology we use in the office to help selling the fruit to making sure our efficient irrigation system out in the orchard is running properly.  I enjoy reading about the weather and learning about old and new farming techniques and tools.

Javier - husband, father, grandfather, organic farmer and foreman.  I’ve been farming since I was a young man, everything from row crops like tomatoes and corn to orchard trees like avocados and citrus.  I’ve learned a lot in my day and I am glad to pass on this knowledge to the next generation of farmers.

That’s Fairview Orchards!

We pride ourselves in offering truly farm to table organic fruit.  We are 100% Certified Organic.  We believe in feeding the soil and maintaining a balanced environment in the orchard filled with all different kinds of animals. Red Tailed Hawks and vultures help out with rodent control in the orchard so we never use poisons.  We have a healthy population of small birds like finches and lizards to help control bugs so we never spray pesticides.  And we have lots of bees, hummingbirds, and bats to help us pollinate.  During the rainy season, we can even hear a symphony of frogs in our seasonal pond. Every year we prune the trees to keep them healthy and the cuttings get chipped into mulch that we put back into the orchard to feed the soil.

All our fruit ripens on the tree, is harvested and packed to order by hand (by Tien, Sean or Javier), and shipped directly to your door.  We use minimal packaging and recycled packing materials.  We’re a small family farm and we do it this way because we think it’s the best way.  Never sprayed, never waxed, always fresh.

We hope you enjoy the fruit and appreciate your support!

If you’ve been reading here long you know I’m a big advocate of local and small farm food. Just because I try to eat locally doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy food from afar. Growing up in Colombia gave me a taste for all things tropical. Read more...

Meyer Lemons From Ojai: California Sunshine in a Box

February 26th, 2014

I had never heard of Meyer lemons until one winter Washington weekend spent in the company of gourmands -- one of the serendipities of a migrant's life remains the endless discovery of novel foods decades after arriving to a new continent. Read more...
